Woot!!

Ahhhhhhh!! That’s my huge sigh of relief! My inventory is delivered to the fair and I am exhausted. Of course being the procrastinator that I am I waited until the last minute to make most of the items! Here are are a couple of pictures:

The kids just finished their first week of summer camp and it was quite a hit.  They got to swim, canoe, learn archery, play all the fun camp games and so much more!  We have arranged for them to go back week after next and they are already excited!  We are planning a trip up to the fair this weekend!  I cant to see my jewelry case and visit with the other vendors!  I’ll be sure to bring the camera (and use it).  Have a great weekend!!

Okay – Before we run off I thought I would let you peek at what we did with the kids last weekend!  Yep – We went berry picking.  We managed to get out of there with 4 pints of raspberries and 8 lbs!!! of blueberries!  Here’s a picture of Payton with his stash of raspberries!

We now have plenty of jam and syrup to last until next season!

Still running!!!

Can you belive that summer is almost over! Man did it fly by or what!?! We have been keeping really busy with the business and with the kids. Today Rich and I are flying to MN to go to the Gathering! This will be our first time going and I am so excited to see some friends! One of my best friends Rona will be there, this is a picture of all of us at our wedding last year.ronagaryrichandi.jpg

I’m also really excited to finally meet Catt and Fred of Cattwalk Tools for the first time!  I have been a “tester” for them for years now and cant wait to put faces to their names!  (Not to mention shop for new tools! :) )

This past week I was busy getting pendants and household items ready for the big Fair!   I will have pendants for exhibit and sale in Craftwear, Canape Knives and Wine Stoppers for exhibit and sale in Living with Craft and jewelry for sale at The Shop at the Fair.  I will also be demonstrating all day on Sunday the 12th!  I’m sure Rich will be ready with camera in hand so I’ll post some pictures afterwards!

Well I better get ready for our flight!!  I’ll post and update when we get back!!

Off and running!

ripples2.jpg

So I’ve put several new eBay auctions up. I’ve not been selling there regularly lately so we’ll have to see how they do! You can see them here!

I’ve been testing a new tool for Catt and Fred of Cattwalk Tools and I really like it. It makes chunky ripple beads and lends itself to some cool and funky designs I’ve been trying. You can see the image above! I think they will make it available after their trip to Tucson so keep an eye out!

Today I made a set using boro, now that is completely different than soft glass. It’s cool in a way because you have plenty of time to get the design right but at the same time it takes patience, which seems to be a virtue that I am lacking :) I’ll add a little snapshot of it below. I am interested in working with more boro and learning how to develop the colors. That’s all for today! Catch you guys soon!!

Be mine…

hearts.jpg

So Valentines day is just around the corner and I have been playing around with making hearts lately. This is a shot of several I made the other day. Some are made with soft glass and some with boro. I really like making them with boro because I think the stiffness of the glass really lets you get the shape just right. The problem I’ve found is that with boro you never really know what your going to end up with! Well I dont anyway :) !

I’ve also been working on making encased florals and shaping them in the chunky lentil press made by Cattwalk. They are turning out really well but are quite time consuming. Hopfully I’ll have pictures of those tomorrow!

Ahhh- A clean slate!

All of us and my Matron of Honor Molly

I guess I should start this blog with a little about my life!  I am a very happy newlywed, recently married to my wonderful husband Richard.  We had the most beautiful wedding in Winter Park Colorado on November 18th of 2006.  This is a second marriage for both of us.  We have three children (from my previous marriage) that are too smart for their own good!  The kids and I moved up here to New Hampshire in October after having lived in the south.  So far the winter has been mild with only one sprinkling of snow!

I am a glass artist.  I have been making glass beads and sculptures for about 7 years now.  It has been more of a hobby but I am ready to give this my best shot and build a sucessful business.   With the help and support of Rich I’m quite sure that we can make it flourish.

As of late we have been setting up the studio, stocking it with glass, kilns and tools.  As a matter of fact I have a shippment arriving today with the new Messy and ASK 104 colors!  I cant wait to give them a spin!  Rich has been working with boro and has had some great success striking the colors – but hopefully he will post that in his own blog!  For now I’m going to sign off but be sure to check back soon!
